Today, Buffalo running back Jaret Patterson ran for 409 yards and 8 TDs. It was one of the greatest running back performances in college football history.

The crazy thing is, last week he ran for 301 yards and 4 TDs.

He’s currently a junior, meaning he’s eligible to declare for the draft in 2021 if he wants.

As a sophomore, he ran for 1,799 yards and 19 TDs. He even had over 1,000 rushing yards as a freshman in 2018.

CBS Sports has him currently listed as the #2 running back in the 2021 draft class behind Clemson’s Travis Etienne, who is the consensus top college RB prospect in the nation right now.

Patterson is listed as CBS’s 67th ranked prospect overall, which would make him an early third-rounder or potentially late second round.

But after the past two weeks I’m sure his draft stock is rising.

Yes, he plays in a lesser conference, the MAC, but he’s absolutely dominating there. He’s unstoppable. 710 yards and 12 TDs in two games make it clear this kid is a special player.

He’s currently listed at 5′ 9″ and 195lbs, and while his height is fine, he’s going to have to put on at least 5-10 more pounds for the NFL. But that shouldn’t really be a problem.

This kid could be the real deal and a name to keep on your list for 2021 fantasy drafts.

Rookie running backs have been all the rage this year in fantasy football: James Robinson, Antonio Gibson, D’Andre Swift, CEH, Jonathan Taylor.

Every year there’s usually a rookie RB that surprises everyone and becomes an RB1. Last year you had guys like Josh Jacobs and Miles Sanders. In 2018, you had Saquon Barkley (although he was one of the most hyped RB prospects ever) and Nick Chubb. In 2017 Alvin Kamara and Kareem Hunt finished as top-5 RBs as rookies.

It’s important to familiarize yourself with these guys now so you can get a leg up on your competition down the road.
