CFB Week 8 Power Ratings & Betting Lines

Last week was tough on the gambling picks. After going 13-8-1 in week 6, I was just 7-13 in week 7, bringing my overall record to 20-21-1. Not great:

However, it was a crazy week in college football overall with all the underdogs:

Just upset city.

But no excuses. Gotta be better this week.

Here are the updated power ratings going into the 8th week of this 2022 college football season:

Ohio State takes over as #1 in the country despite not playing in week 7. Bama losing knocked them down a couple pegs, Georgia sits at 2, and Michigan remains #4.

Interestingly, Clemson moved down to #15 after beating Florida State. This is because despite the fact that Clemson won 34-28, and had a 34-14 lead at one point, they were kind of dominated statistically by Florida State. They let up a lot of yards.

That’s the top-75.

Betting lines coming tomorrow once I finish crunching the numbers.

UPDATE– Here we go. Betting lines for this week:

The only thing I would change here is that I think I’m actually going to call an audible and choose Penn State to cover the 4.5 points over Minnesota. I feel like they’re going to have a bounce back game. It’s a night game for them at home, whiteout crowd, and Minnesota is overrated.

Penn State -4.5 is my pick there.
